Mumbai is a potpourri of various cultures from all parts of the country and one of the many ways we as a nation celebrate our diversity is through our food.

Interestingly, every state or region of our country boasts of some brilliant street foods that we swear by and The Lalit in Mumbai is paying its tribute to our culinary heritage.

Here’s a sneak peek into the lavish spread of some of the finest street foods that you can think of from India. The Lifestyle Portal had a chance to witness the street food festival in all its glory at The Lalit, near the International Airport in Mumbai.

If it’s the mouth-watering pani puris you’re craving for, the kheema pau, the Kolkata style momos and chowmein or palak pakodas – hang in there, it’s all available under one roof at Café 24/7 at The Lalit.

The ambience was done up in a total Indian street style, as if you’re walking through the gallis of a cosy neighbourhood, donned with Hindi film posters and those typical Hindi songs from the ’90s.

If you’re in the vicinity do drop by at the Street Food Festival at Cafe 24/7 which is running until the end of this month. The menu is curated by Chef Aungshuman Chakraborty and the street food menu is changed almost every day of the festival.

For us, we swear by the palak pakodas and the chowmein! What’s your favourite? Drop by at The Lalit and take your pick. For more pictures from the food festival, visit our official Facebook page.
