About Tanya Munshi
Tanya is a graduate in Sociology from Sophia College, Mumbai and a post graduate in Communications and Media from SNDT Women’s University, Juhu in Mumbai. She also holds a post graduate diploma in Instructional Designing, from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, Pune.
She started her career in 2001 as an intern with Tinkle Comics (India Book House) and Better Photography, and gradually moving on to the role of an Instructional Designer in the field of e-learning for Brainvisa Technologies, Pune.
Her freelance portfolio consisted of writing lifestyle related features and articles for Rediff.com’s GetAhead Section, Tips4me.com and as a Site Moderator for a children’s website called MyCandymanClub.com for BC Webwise, The Hindu (Kochi edition), SpiceRoute, Simplyfly and Woman’s Era.
Tanya has also been actively involved in research and re-telling classics and folk tales for ‘Mango ‘ – the Children’s Imprint from DC Books Publishing House, and written and edited books for the Pratham during her stint at IL&FS – Education Division.
As a Travel Expert for almost five years, Tanya has planned travel itiniearies for Kerala and the South India region for Yatra.com’s travel website called Raahi.com and also written several travelogues as well.
Currently she is an Online Writer for a UK based publishing house and runs The Lifestyle Portal which has been a dream that she always wanted to pursue from the time she started her career.
She’s also an independent writer, who enjoys writing restaurant/ food reviews, travelogues and trying out new recipes. In her spare time, she likes to pursue her hobbies – Painting and Photography and some of her work can be found in this website and The Lifestyle Portal’s Facebook page.
